Mackenzie + Matt - Wedding Day
You would think that by this point, we’d have run out of nice things to say about these two, but I dont really know that we ever will. Mackenzie was already one of my (Delyn) great friends before we set out on the journey leading up to this day. But over the course of this year or so, we have grown closer and closer to both Mackenzie and Matt and are so glad they and their families trusted us to capture this season for them. To be asked to be a part of their wedding was an honor and a privilege.
We set out to start photographing their wedding with just a little bit of pressure on our shoulders, knowing that Mackenzie was a wedding planner and we were about to walk into a magnificent day. It was a little colder… Okay, a lot colder than we expected, but that didn’t seem to matter. The whole crew was totally down to stick it out and do whatever we asked them to for beautiful shots.
We love incorporating things that help us tell the actual story through images, so when Mackenzie told us she was bring a quilt out with her to stay warm, we were sold. To us, the point of photography isn’t just to capture perfect images, its to tell the story. We had Mackenzie and Matt throw this quilt around themselves and snuggle up to stay warm for a few images. Then we had them drop it for some timeless images that showcase the best dress and the nicest suit that they would ever wear.
The memories of getting to tag along and capture the moments of their best day ever will forever be engrained in our minds. From the moment Mackenzie received the perfect pearl bracelet from her mom and the gorgeous gold ring from her dad, and the genuinely thankful responses she had to both to the reaction Matt had when he turned around to see her - they will stand out in our memories forever.
Matt and Mackenzie, THANK YOU for being who you are. Thank you for bringing us along on your journey. I honestly can say we will cherish you two and your friendship forever. I hope and pray we have the opportunity to not only capture your memories for years to come, but to watch as you two thrive as you grow together.
