In case you didn’t know already, bridal shoots are my (Delyn) favorites. Something about my adoration for fashion photography mixed with a love story still in the writing just gets my creativity sparked. When Mackenzie told me she wanted to do bridals, but wasn’t sure how it was gonna work, we started brainstorming. If you missed it, we moved away from Arkansas about 4 months ago and Mackenzie wasn’t going I have her dress until after we moved so the opportunity to do a bridal shoot was almost impossible... almost. Somehow, we had a random trip planned to visit Arkansas and had just enough time to squeeze in a sunrise bridal shoot for her and I can honestly say its one of those things I would have regretted forever had we not made it happen!
That bride, in all her radiance. Wearing that blush dress - with the illusion and tulle and fluff, on top of a cliff overlooking the sunrise as it splashed light on the Missouri land... It was like everything happened so perfectly it was almost hard to believe.
We wandered around in grass almost taller than us (see the end for some hilarious behind the scenes of how we got where we did) and out on the edge of the cliff for some breathtaking scenery before jumping back in the Jeep and heading over to one of our longest saved locations - some random piles of chat, waiting to be shot. I can honestly say it was the perfect way spend a morning in Arkansas.
Mackenzie just said ‘I do’ to her forever love and I know Matt has been waiting to see her wearing this dress since he first met her. Matt, I hope these photos make your jaw drop when you see them. I hope you see your bride on the mountains facing the fear and know that it was for you more than it was for her. I hope these photos bring the biggest smile to your face and more than anything, I hope you turn to Mackenzie and let her know how much you love them. These are for you my friend.
Thank you Mackenzie for trusting me when I asked you to walk to through thick, tall grass that must’ve had some critters in it and stepping out to the edge of a cliff. Although you probably had the biggest knot you’ve ever had in your gut, you trusted me that the shots would be well worth it. It means a lot that you have chosen us to capture this time in you and Matt’s lives and we are so blessed to call you friends. I hope these photos bless you both beyond words :)
